Lake Mountain #2

2nd trip to Lake Mountain of the season. This time, lots more snow. It was even snowing when we were there. Temperature was still a moderate 1C, with little wind, so quite comfortable.

You will see Matthew's attempt at snowman-building.

There is video too for this post. At the bottom.

Geelong and Bellarine Peninsula

Spent 3 days in the Bellarine Peninsula. Stayed 2 nights at Geelong. Arrived late on the 1st day and didn't do much but drive around. Was raining as well. 2nd day drove to Otway Fly Tree Top Walk (2hrs away), which was in the Otway ranges / Tropical Forest. 3rd day, drove to Queenscliff for the old steam train ride, and to Point Lonsdale (lighthouse).

These shots are from the Otway Fly:

Lake Mountain

Drove up to Lake Mountain for some Toboganning on Saturday morning. It was a fairly straightforward 2 hour driving from Box Hill, with a short 13km stretch of very windy road. Reaching there at 1030am, the 2 nearest carparks were almost full. It is a very popular destination for toboganning and cross country skiing.

The train and the pony

This is the miniature train ride at Eltham Lower Park. $3 brings you on a 2km ride through tunnels and bridges; its hard to imagine that you can still get cheap entertainment in this city.

This was also his first Pony Ride. The little brave boy didn't hesitate to accept the offer to ride on the vertically challenged horse.

Lysterfield Lake / Tirhituan Park

28 June, we went to Lysterfield Lake Park to let Matthew ride around for a while. Was a bit windy and no playground so we moved to Tirhituan Park after that to BBQ our lunch and let Matthew play at the playground. Quite a large playground with a spiderweb net for climbing, which he did.

20 week scan

This post was entered by Chin Ee.

Just went for my 20 week scan last Thursday, and Thank God, everything was fine. Baby is growing normally. One thing I noticed is that the sonographer is more detailed. She kept talking non-stop, explaining everything she sees on the monitor and using alot of medical term.

When I did the scan in Singapore, the sonographer didn't talk much, just said where and what she is scanning for, didn't really tell us what she saw on the monitor.

Anyway, I am half way thru...20 more weeks to go. Phew! Here are the images from the scan. The first one is a side profile of the baby, with the head pretty obvious. The other one is a 3D scan, of the face of the baby, with 1 hand up. See if you can tell who the baby resembles.

Matthew's new trike

Grandparents just bought a new trike for Matthew. Its the one with soft rubber-like wheels that don't make noise like the cheaper plastic tire ones. Matthew had a test drive. Still not that stable but getting there.
