It was the Food, Wine & Jazz weekend at the annual Tesselaar Tulip Festival. We went there early in the morning before it even open its door and was shocked to find a long queue waiting outside.
It was the AFL Grand Final today, so we weren't really expecting a large crowd. Looks like there are alot of non-footy fans afterall.
Weather forecast today was fine and at a top of 28deg. It was sunny alright, much better than the day when we went last year when it was wet and muddy. No complaints about the weather.
Matthew had a ball of a time trying to touch the tulips and walking in between flower beds.
He got so tired until he finally sat down on the ground.
We went back after a hotdog lunch over a jazz performance. Overall, it was a fun day with a superb weather! Looking forward to the one next year.

Mid Autumn Festival
We celebrated Mid Autumn Festival on 14 September with a bbq dinner, followed by lantern playing and mooncake feasting.
The weather forecast for that day wasn't so good from the beginning of the week, with rain and wind throughout the day. As the days go by, the weather forecast 'tamed' down to just showers and fine in the evening. Finally on that day itself, it was a fine and rainless day with temperature ranging from 16 - 19 degrees. So definitely have to thank God for the fine weather, which enabled everyone to have a fun time.
We invited 3 other families to join us, each bringing a dish/meat. It was also the first time we use the bbq pit after so many months of 'hibernation' during the colder months. The kids had fun playing with lanterns and riding bikes outside, while the adults feasted on the mooncakes after dinner.
One thing for sure, the mooncakes are cheaper than those selling in Singapore, especially if you get it on the day itself, you can expect to get at least 40% discount. We only paid $27 for some good quality mooncakes.
Anyway, it is always good to have a gathering with friends on festive season...feels just like back home. Will do it again next year.
